Jesus is a very well known individual, both inside and out of the Christian faith. He's portrayed as a messianic figure (indeed, He is one of the most well-known of all redemption figures in both history and religion), and His ministry largely revolved around saving people from sin. It's only natural that Christians of today who are devoted to Him seek to continue His ministry of salvation.

The initial path of healing is to come to terms will the negative feelings that have built up within you such as fear, jealousy, and insecurity. Some theologians say holding on to these actually blocks the Holy Spirit from cleansing you of them.
